The Corner Town House at 6 Brown Place, Wick, Caithness, KW1 5QQ has been graded by Visit Scotland as a 4 Star Self Catering Holiday Home.

The house is a favourite with visitors to Wick. We have many Friends & Family who return year after year and feel totally at home in their very "own" little holiday home in the Highlands. We are now getting bookings from folks who first visited when they were kiddies... When you start to plan your visit to Wick just write, phone, text or email me with your dates so I can get them pencilled in to ensure you get your first choice of dates. I will send you out the booking form, etc and will confirm your booking so you have peace of mind that your accommodation is sorted. Just let me know if I can help in any other way with your travel plans or with deciding on what to see and do while in the county. If you are here for a special occassion do let me know and I will do all I can to help celebrate. I can send information on car rental, menu's for the hotels so you can pre book a meal, hairdressing appointments, taxi's etc.

Andrew and Craig Harvey from Sarclet, Thrumster now have their CD of piping music available from www.panrecords.co.uk or you can order one from me direct. There will be a CD in your holiday home for you to enjoy during your stay. The boys are my newphews.

The Harvey Brothers CD is now available on www.panrecords.co.uk.

The CD is in the house for your enjoyment and I hope you will love this mix of traditional and modern piping from my nephews. Maybe I am biased but I do think they are very good

Pulteney Distillery is another favourite place to visit you can see how the whiskey is made and have a wee dram afore you leave  Whaligoe Steps at Ulbster - the fishing folk used to carry baskets of fish up these steps on their shoulders Sinclair and Girnigoe Castle has been undergoing restoration work but there are lots of places to visit in CaithnessThe Old Parish Churchyard is a favourite place to visit for our visitors who are doing family research. The local archives are excellent.

You will be spoilt for choice of things to see and do while in Wick. Information on all the favourite places to visit and things to see, adventures to try are provided at The Corner House. I am always happy to help with maps, directions and suggestions. There are also recommendations on the towns restaurants and coffee shops, bars, etc. Let me know if you wish me to send you information on a particular thing you wish to see or do while in Caithness. Look forward to hearing from you soon. Donald

The prices for The Corner Town House are excellent value. A couple sharing the Master Bedroom have the house on a fully inclusive basis for £450 per week and families of uusually five but up to a maximum of six by arrangement pay £595 also fully inclusive. Inclusive means all Gas, Electric, Bedding Linens, Towels, BT TV Viewing, Internet.

There is on street parking and a bus stop just at your door means you can leave the car and hop on the bus for the town centre (but this is the lasy option as it really is only a short walk). If you have kiddies there is a playing field just a few streets along, also close by are tennis courts, crazy golf, putting etc. Wick has a swimming pool with a toddlers section. There is a Marina at the Harbour and transport is easy with a Railway Station, good bus links and an Airport. The Corner Town House is excellent for folks doing their family trees as the Archives is again just a few minutes walk and the folks there are fantastic - very patient and ever so helpful - and I am always happy to try and help if needed even if it is just directions to the burial grounds, and so on. We have had great fun over the years discovering many new relatives - Caithness folks emigrated all over so it is not too surprising to discover so many long lost cousins! Note: This would entitle you to a discount on any return visit!!!

Take care and my best wishes. Thanks for taking the time to read my little web page. Donald
